FAITH: Knoxville Church Comes Together To Support Their Own Who Has Brain Cancer

A Knoxville woman's life changed about a month ago. Corbyn Skeen Greshman has brain cancer. When her church found out, members felt called to help. They hosted a rummage sale to support her.

"Corbyn is a very special young woman," said Chad Crawford, who is the pastor of Cumberland Church.

23-year-old Corbyn Skeen Gresham is a member of Cumberland Church. She has a passion for teaching sign language and got married last fall.

"Even through this very difficult season of her life, she continues to display her deep faith in Christ," said Crawford.

About a monto ago, Corbyn's life changed. Doctors diagnosed her with brain cancer.

"It's Non- Hodgkin's lymphoma," said Crawford.

She's going through chemotherapy at UT.
Her pastor Chad Crawford and about 50 volunteers are stepping up to help pay her bills.

"Being just 23 years old. this is just a shock," said Crawford. "I did her and her husband Garrett's wedding back in October of last year," said Crawford.

Cumberland Church and Black Oak Heights organized a rummage sale.
Sharon Fraker came up with the whole idea.

"Through the idea out there to a couple of friends and it just grew to where it was too big for a garage so we are here," said Sharon Fraker, who is the organizer of the rummage sale.

The community's love for Corbyn was evident. The church was full of items to sell.

"We just want to support this young couple and this family in a way that benefits them and the community," said Crawford.

If you'd like to help support Corbyn and her fight, the rummage sale will start again Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
