TBI Responds To Officer-Involved Shooting In LaFollette

 Dispatch confirmed that the Campbell County Sheriff's Office was investigating a reported shooting in LaFollette.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that it was investigating the shooting and confirmed it was officer-involved. Investigators are en route to the scene which is in the 100 block of Chapman Crest Drive.

According to the sheriff's office, officials received a 911 call that a man had shot his girlfriend or wife on Chapman Crest Drive. Once on scene, officers found a woman dead. The man at the location engaged officers. The male suspect was shot.

He was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center by Lifestar and is in critical condition, the sheriff's office said.

No officers were injured, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said the call was initially received at about 2 p.m.
