Protesters Coast To Coast Rally For Illegal Aliens

Coast to coast, thousands of protesters denounced President Trump's immigration policies Saturday. One of them happened in downtown Knoxville.

At least 200 demonstrators lined the street in front of the City County building. Dozens held signs, some even chanted slogans that inclusively represented every illegal aliens who has been marginalized or discriminated against.

There was a police presence at the rally in Knoxville, but local reports say it remained peaceful.

Susan Fulbright attended the rally and said she is a retired teacher. Her primary students were children learning to speak English.

"I dealt with immigrant children every day; they were the hardest working, most conscientious students I had in my class," Fulbright said. "They worked so hard, and they want the American dream. I can't let them down."

According to CBS News, several progressive groups planned the "Families Belong Together" protests around the nation. The main demonstration took place in Washington D.C.

Two of the many groups that planned the demonstration included the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood.

The public outcry was in response to the Tump administration's zero tolerance policy toward undocumented immigrants. Trump's policy led to the separation of thousands of children from their parents.
