Knoxville Police Searching For Local Robbery Suspect Who Held Up Cash Express Place In Bearden

The Knoxville Police Department is searching for an armed man it says robbed a payday loan business in Bearden. They say he could also be responsible for a purse snatching at a grocery store.

The purse snatching happened Wednesday morning at the Aldi located at 2801 Schaad Road. A woman says her purse was grabbed out of her cart by a man who then ran off in a blue Honda CRV.

This vehicle matches the description of the vehicle used by the suspect wanted for the Cash Express robbery that occurred on Monday, June 11.

Officers responded to reported of that robbery at 5:04 p.m. Monday at Cash Express, 8373 Kingston Pike. Employees told officers a white man with a handgun came up to the front counter and demanded money. The employee gave it to him, and the suspect drove off in a blue Honda CRV with a temporary tag.

The suspect has a thin build and is about 5'6" to 5'8".

KPD asked that anyone in the area around that time come forward if they remember anything or witnessed the robbery. Witnesses can call 865-215-7212 anonymously, or submit tips through KPD's Facebook page.
