Bear Cub Pays Visit To Ski Mountain Cabin In Gatlinburg Over Weekend

A bear cub paid a visit to a cabin near Ski Mountain in Gatlinburg on Saturday morning.

Rachel Bowlin said her fiancee Brittney Arden thought she heard a grill move outside on the cabin's porch.

"(She) came and got me, and that's when I took the video," Bowlin said. "He climbed all the way up the tree and on the roof."

Bowlin said Arden's father owns the cabin, and they visit about twice a month; each time they see "this lil guy," but not his mother. When they saw the cub, Bowlin turn on her camera inside the cabin and began filming.

"Oh my God," Bowlin can be heard saying as the cub first appears on the porch, balancing on the railing and scoping out the area.

"Oh no," Bowlin said as the cub jumps down onto the porch, sniffs around a cooler, a bucket and a few other places.

Although cubs may seem cute, it's important residents and tourists alike do as Bowlin and Arden did — watch from inside, or from a safe distance.
