Sevierville Police Say Three Men Stole Hundreds Of Dollars From Residence On Estate Drive In Door-To Door Scam

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Sevierville Police Department said three men stole hundreds of dollars from a residence on Estate Drive on Saturday.

At about 2 p.m., police said, two men knocked on a side door of a house in that area and went inside when one of the home's residents opened the door. Two of the men acted like they were selling linoleum.

While they were talking to the homeowners, a third man allegedly entered the house through another door and stole $920 dollars from a purse.

The police said the men were white and left in an early 2000's gray, two-door Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck. Anyone with any information on this crime or a similar one is asked to call the SPD at 865-453-5506 or your local law enforcement.

Police caution citizens on opening their doors to unknown individuals.
