Memphis Father Facing Charges He Put Drugs In Three-Year Old Son's Pants

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Memphis father is facing charges after authorities said he put drugs inside a three-year-old's pants during a traffic stop.

CBS affiliate WREG reported that Terrance Lyles was scheduled for arraignment this morning on child abuse and drug charges.

Officers said they initiated a traffic stop on a black Infiniti and noticed the driver, Lyles, make movements towards one of two children located in the vehicle's backseat as they approached.

During the stop, officers learned that his license had been revoked and asked him to step outside of the car. At that point, officials said, they noticed Lyles had something in his left hand and asked for it. WREG allegedly handed them a plastic bag from his right hand.

When asked again for the items in his left hand, Lyles reportedly tried to throw several Hello Kitty and Dominoes shaped pills into his mouth, but missed.

Officials said the pills were consistent with Ecstasy, according to WREG.

Following the man's arrest. Officers asked a six-year-old boy in the car if he was alright. "My daddy put something in my sister's pants," the boy said.

The three-year-old added, "In pants, in pants."

WREG reported that the children were released to their mother while Lyles was charged with child abuse/neglect, driving with a suspended license, drug possession and tampering with evidence.
