Knoxville Police Department Arrest 25-Year Old Male After Deadly Drive By Shooting Near Caprice Apartments
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Department responded to Caprice Apartments located on Valley View Drive at around 12:42 p.m. Friday for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said they found a male outside of an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was taken to UT Medical Center, where he later died. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Alexander Lemar West, of Knoxville.

Police said the shooting happened after a confrontation between the suspect and the victim, according to the preliminary investigation. Investigators later said the shooting was domestic related.

Investigators identified the suspect as Antonio Gipson of Knoxville. Police said investigators were able to contact Gipson and talk him into turning himself in. Gipson was charged with one count of first degree murder and is being held on a $750,000 bond.
