OUR VIEW: Trump Administration More Than Right On Syria Strikes Friday Night Providing We Don't Wind Up In Mess Of War

The Trump administration responded more than appropriately Friday night by carrying out air strikes against Syria for using chemical weapons once again.

The strikes sent an "important message" to not only the Assad government, but Iran and Russia which have enabled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and that by America joining with allies France and Great Britain, the attack illustrates allied resolve.

Retired Col. Oliver North said late Friday night, "There are a lot of players in this," he added, saying that several countries other than the three western allies are concerned about the present state of Syria.

The brazenness with which Syria’s government used chlorine gas to murder and maim citizens, including women and children, in the city of Douma last weekend showed they evidently didn't get the message from President Trump's 2017 strikes.

Many people, like myself, question the source of these attacks and are not 100% convinced Assad is doing it. The U.S. government is convinced, so we must trust our government on this one.
Either way, we cannot and could not allow Assad OR the rebels gassing their own people.

Our country has an important obligation to demonstrate our resolute opposition to the use of chemical weapons under any circumstances.

Syria is a totally failed state and the ultimate outcome is going to be a completely different map at some point in the future.

What is striking about last night is that many Arab states including Egypt, Jordan, the U.A.E., Qatar, and Saudi Arabia all supported the mission, which should tell us how evil and wicked this Syrian regime has become.

President Trump also deserves credit for his leadership on the issue.

Many liberal media types last night and even Saturday morning are claiming these air strikes were simply a distraction from President Trump's personal issues and the Mueller probe. The typical MSNBC, CNN crew shamed themselves again in promoting such stupid theories.

All I can say is please give me a blanking break. Furthermore, the disgusting and despicable people who say these things over television need to seek mental help at their earliest convenience.

The strikes last night were about having a moral compass again as a nation and recognizing that any regime using chemical weapons has lost theirs and needs to be confronted, and if they refuse to stop gassing their own citizens to death, be destroyed.

When evil is not confronted, then evil will spread and ultimately destroy humanity. As the old saying goes, all evil must do to flourish is have good people do nothing to stop it. We did something again last night to stop it.

It's refreshing we have a leader in President Trump who understands this.

Some fear this may lead to American intervention in Syria. It won't. President Trump has vowed to get America out of these stupid and violent skirmishes among cousins in the Middle East. Providing this doesn't happen, what took place Friday night will be seen as yet another foreign policy win for our President, whom I respect with great admiration for the job he has done since in office bringing America back from the liberal abyss we have found ourselves in since 2008 and the Obama years.

One final thought on the Syria situation. A lot of people claim this strike last night was a John Bolton strike, who is the new National Security Adviser to President Trump. I disagree.

This was a Trump/Mattis strike. If it was a Bolton strike, there would be a hole on the map where Syria used to be.

Be thankful for that. Beyond that- PRAY!

And when I say pray, I say pray for our President, our nation and the people of Syria. More to come.
