Early Morning Shooting Sunday Sends One To Hospital In East Knox
The Knoxville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at 2440 Cavalier Avenue at 8:55 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, authorities discovered two female victims inside of the residence. One victim had a gunshot wound to the leg. The other woman had minor bruising to her leg.
Both women told police they were hiding in a closet when the shooting occurred. According to police, the suspect is a black male that one of the women knows.
The woman with the gunshot wound was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
