Two Knoxville Men Accused Of Raping A Child Arrested By Knox County Sheriff's Office

 Two men accused of raping a child are behind bars in Knox County.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office said the U.S. Marshals Service-led Smoky Mountain Fugutive Task Force made the arrests this morning. They found 48-year-old Mark Lay of Rocky Top, Tennessee, in Luttrell and 24-year-old Cody Wyrick of Strawberry Plains in Knoxville.

Investigators with KCSO's family crisis unit said Lay and Wyrick both raped a child and are jailed on $100,000 and $75,000 bonds, respectively.

The Smoky Mountain Task Force is made up of officers with the U.S. Marshall's Service, Knoxville Police Department and Knox Blount and Sevier sheriff's offices. Anyone who suspects domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, animal abuse or cyber situation can contact the unit at 865-215-6820.
