KNOXVILLE - Knoxville Police arrested a second suspect in a January shooting on Western Avenue that left one person dead and two injured.

According to police records, Amir Hassan Spears faces first degree murder charges after a surviving gunshot victim identified him in a photo lineup. Elijah Bowman was arrested on January 29 in connection to the incident.

On January 28 at 8:15 p.m., crews were dispatched to a shooting in the 6000 block of Western Avenue. Investigators said two men and one woman were shot. Tahir and Woods were treated and released from the hospital.

According to the preliminary investigation, the shooting was not a random incident.

Neighbors like Larry Headrick said they heard a commotion of police and ambulances, but never gunshots.

"I told my wife, 'No, it's probably on down towards the other end of Western,'" he recalled. "And then she called back and said, 'No, it was right next door."
