35-Year Old Knox Man Pleads Guilty To Statutory Rape In 2016 Case

A 35-year-old man was charged with solicitation of a minor-statutory rape and simple possession of schedule IV in 2016.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, 35-year-old Marcus Christopher Hobbs was taken into custody on October 5, 2016, for solicitation of a minor-aggravated statutory rape and simple possession of a schedule IV following an investigation by KPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC.)

Police said Hobbs met a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts. At that point, he was arrested by ICAC and marijuana was discovered in his possession, according to police.

On March 2, Hobbs pleaded guilty in Knox County Division I Court and was sentenced to a two-year sentence. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
