OUR VIEW: The Dems On The Wrong Side Of History Again, Own This Shutdown And I Hope It Turns Into A Bitter Pill At The Polls In 2018 For Chuck and Nancy's Party

Watching the pathetic display known as Washington D.C. is sometimes too much even for those of us who understand that dark forces are raging against President Trump, who celebrates his first official year in office today, January 20, 2018.  Instead of it being a glorious event, the President finds himself having to play daycare provider for petulant children known better as the Democratic Party who seem hell bent protecting illegal aliens than they do serving those who are actually citizens of this nation.

On midnight Friday the U.S. government shut down because the Senate failed to get 9 Democrats to agree to a continuing resolution passed by the House of Representatives earlier in the day to keep the government funded for a least a month.  Senate Democrats have said any short-term spending bill to keep the government open must include a fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects from deportation some illegal immigrants brought to the country as children.

President's spokesperson Kellyanne Conway said late Friday night that Democrats as always have found themselves "on the wrong side of history" just like they were with the Trump tax cuts.

DACA mind you doesn't expire until March, so Democrats were forcing an unnecessary government shutdown that now threatens the paychecks of millions of federal workers and those who protect us from enemies, the U.S. Military. It's maddening when you think about it.

For now, the military, health inspectors and law enforcement were all scheduled to work without pay, while the brunt of the shutdown won’t be felt until Monday as hundreds of thousands of federal employees are set to be furloughed if a deal isn't reached over the weekend. These asshole Senators however will get paid during this same time. Mad yet?

"They're against veterans and children, our Border Patrol agents, our firefighters. They're against the Pentagon when our secretary of defense says military readiness is in peril," Conway said.

As President Trump tweeted out late Friday, "Not looking good for our great Military or Safety & Security on the very dangerous Southern Border. Dems want a Shutdown in order to help diminish the great success of the Tax Cuts, and what they are doing for our booming economy."

In laymen's terms, the GOP wants to "Make America Great Again;" Dems want to DACA. That’s pretty much it.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the GOP needed 60 votes to pass a measure that would have kept the government running until mid-February, but not enough Democrats went along with the plan. The tally was 50-49, with five "red" state Democrats voting in favor of the measure and five Republicans voting against it.

“Most of the stuff we agree on. One reason we ended up here, the shoehorning of illegal immigration into this debate,” McConnell said after the vote failed, adding that the Senate would resume talks later Saturday to prevent a prolonged shutdown.

These Demos who did vote for the measure Friday night know that their leader, Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is leading them down a road of destruction worse than the Titanic when people see the truth of truly why the government is closed today.

Sadly however, the majority of Senate Democrats, however, are committed to resisting and obstructing the president at any cost, and protecting law breakers instead of protecting and providing paychecks for America's most precious assets, those who protect us, the U.S. Military.

Granted the news media is busy today already carrying the water for the jackasses showing poll after poll claming people are blaming the Republicans and President Trump for this. Don't believe it!

"They know this is the 'paycheck president,' Donald Trump, versus folks who are so petty about DACA before the deadline is even upon us that they would deny people their paychecks," Conway said.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was livid late last night over this and he should have been.

On Twitter, McConnell, R-Ky., singled out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., claiming he “doesn’t even have an immigration bill.”

“The facts before us are simple. Right now, the Democratic leader has no compromise immigration bill on the table. No bill exists,” McConnell tweeted. Why do Americans need to suffer from a government shutdown when he doesn’t even have an immigration bill?”

On Friday night moments after the shutdown, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders labeled the potential disruption of government services a “Schumer Shutdown,” in a statement Friday, faulting Democrats for behaving like “obstructionist losers” who put “politics above our national security, military families, vulnerable children, and our country’s ability to serve all Americans.”

Vice President Mike Pence echoed those sentiments in a Tweet late Friday night.

"Rather than solve problems, Democratic leadership preferred a shutdown that has dangerous consequences for our national defense. Their action tonight – or lack thereof – is unconscionable," Pence said.

House Speaker Paul Ryan called the Democrats' decision to block a four-week stopgap extension “reckless.”

“Senate Democrats have let down our troops, our children, and all Americans. All of this is just unnecessary. It is reckless. Senate Democrats have brought us to a shutdown,” Ryan said in a statement posted to Twitter.

However, during his closing remarks on the Senate floor, Schumer said no one deserves the blame more than Trump. Schumer claimed that Democrats were willing to compromise with the White House on a U.S.-Mexico border wall in exchange for DACA protection policies. That is completely laughable and disgusting not only on the merits of what was said but the insult to the American people who Schumer expects to believe that.

We've seen how the Democrats "negotiate" and they've done no such thing on this or any other thing this entire first year of President Trump. They do not want what is best for President Trump because they know in their heart of hearts if President Trump's second year is like his first, their chances of ever holding power again are as small as the Pope becoming Protestant.

President Trump has done everything in his power to avoid this. The Democrats blew up Washington so they could protect illegals. As I famously say a lot, you do the math.

I just hope that in the end I hope it turns into a bitter pill at the polls for Chuck and Nancy's party during the 2018 midterms. Forget the polls. The American people out here in the real world know who is to blame. We are mad as hell right now and the party of the jackasses should be put on notice we have seen the way they have acted since January 20, 2017. What they did last night is just part two of their "act." The curtain will come down soon on this all. #MAGA
