Some 12 Tenants Displaced Due To Bell Walker's Crossing Apartment Fire Near Walker Springs

SOURCE: WVLT The Knoxville Fire Department responded to an apartment fire in the Walker Springs area.

Crews were dispatched to 8331 Block House Way at 8:24 a.m. Wednesday on reports of a fire at Bell Walker's Crossing Apartments.

When firefighters arrived to the scene, they found flames coming from a chimney on top of building no. five that contains 24 units.

Fire crews evacuated all residents to safety. Most of the fire damage was reportedly contained to the attic area of the three-story building.

12 tenants will be displaced due to water damage. The Knoxville Fire Department said apartment management is trying to house displaced residents by finding unoccupied units within the complex and by asking for assistance from the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.

The apartment complex experienced a fire on June 21, 2017, that temporarily displaced more than 33 residents.
