Two Dead In Roane County Crash Wednesday Night

Two people were killed in a crash that occurred Wednesday night in Roane County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a single vehicle crash in Midtown in Roane County at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday night. They investigated and discovered that a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM was traveling eastbound on 1-40 before it suddenly left the road.

The driver, 32-year-old Theodore Kalnasy, overcorrected and ran off the road into the median. The car rolled multiple times and eventually ejected both Kalnasy and the passenger, 23-year-old Tara Kalnasy.

It is unknown at this time whether the two were under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Both the driver and the passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
