Blount County Sheriff's Office Looking For Suspect After Rockford Pursuit

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Blount County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help finding a suspect wanted on several felony warrants after a pursuit ended in Rockford Thursday afternoon.

BCSO said Damon Louis Lenoir, 46, of Knoxville, was wanted for felony evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, misdemeanor evading arrest and several drug charges.

Around 1 p.m. Thursday, a Blount County deputy stopped a vehicle on Old Knoxville Highway at the Roddy Branch boat ramp for multiple traffic violations. BCSO said as the deputy was conducting his investigation of Lenoir, the suspect locked his door and fled in his vehicle.

A short pursuit ended in Rockford, where Lenoir fled on foot into a heavily wooded area. Several deputies and K-9 teams searched the area, and Knox County Air Watch flew over in an attempt to locate him. Alcoa Police Department officers also assisted in the search.

Deputies and investigators found felony amounts of powder cocaine for resale and Xanax for resale in Lenoir's Chevy Suburban.

Anyone with information about Lenoir's whereabouts was asked to call Blount County Communications at 865-983-3620. Those with tips can also call the Sheriff's Office 24-hour anonymous crime line at 865-273-5200, or leave a tip on the BCSO website here.
