Morristown Police Charge Hamblen Man With Murder Of 25-Year Old

MORRISTOWN (WVLT) - Morristown police say one man has been charged with murder after a Friday night shooting left a 25-year-old man dead.

Police say Antonio Dewayne Yarbrough was shot in the upper thigh inside a Tulip Street home on Friday night at around 11:30 p.m. Yarbrough was transported to UT Medical Center, where he later died.

Over the weekend, the Morristown Police Department looked for two suspects whom investigators believe searched and ultimately shot Yarbrough before beating him.

Police believe the incident began with a dispute over illegal drug activity.

Early Sunday morning, Nicholas Matthew Roberts, 29, of Russellville was arrested in Mohawk. Brandon Kyle Harville, 34, also of Russellville, was found in Bulls Gap around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

On Monday, Morristown Police detectives announced that a witness had purposely falsely identified Harville as one of the two men responsible for the murder. He was released from jail.

Roberts remains in jail on a second degree murder charge.
