Victim Identified In Drowning Death After Body Recovered At Fort Dickerson Quarry Friday

KNOXVILLE -  (SOURCE: WVLT) -- The body of a man believed to have jumped into the Fort Dickerson Quarry Friday was recovered, according to the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad.

Crews said they found the body Friday night at 9:00 after five hours of their recovery operation. This after the Knoxville Police Department and Knoxville Fire Department with other authorities responded to a call on 520 Augusta Ave about a possible drowning at Fort Dickerson Quarry around 4 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a male victim had jumped from the side of the quarry and had not resurfaced.

On Monday, a representative with the Knoxville Police Department identified the victim as Jeremy Fields from Kingsport.

The Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Rescue Squad and the Knoxville Fire Department responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
