Registered Maryville Nurse At Blount Memorial Hospital Walks In On Wife Smothering Husband With Pillow

A registered nurse at Blount Memorial Hospital walked in on a wife smothering her husband with a pillow, according to a Maryville police report.

On the night of August 20, a registered nurse reported witnessing Sheila Hardin holding a pillow over her husband's face, attempting to smother him in room 130. The complainant told police the victim, Anthony Hardin, looked afraid. The nurse was advised to notify security and move the victim to a hospital floor for non-contact/visitor patients.

Detectives interviewed Sheila Hardin at the Maryville Police Department on August 22. During the interview, Hardin confessed to trying to suffocate her husband.

Investigators charged Mrs. Hardin with attempted criminal homicide.
