TBI Investigating Deadly Shooting Of Union County Husband By Wife
A husband was shot and killed by his wife Sunday, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Crews responded to the incident in the 900 block of Highway 61 West at 5:54 a.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call. Deputies said they found Timothy R. Smith, 46, of Maynardville with an apparent gunshot wound and his wife with a handgun in the driveway of the couple's home.

The wife was taken to the hospital and released for an injury sustained during the incident.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Union County Sheriff's Office are investigating the shooting death.
