Parents Of Two-Year Old Gatlinburg Boy Found Dead In Car Charged With Murder

According to a release from District Attorney General James Dunn, a grand jury returned indictments against Anthony Dyllan Phillips and Jade Elizabeth Phillips, the parents of 2-year-old Kipp, who was found in a vehicle outside a Gatlinburg home on July 14. Jade Phillips is the daughter of the mayor of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Jerry Kirkman.


Kipp's parents were indicted on one count of first degree murder, committed through aggravated child neglect; one count of first degree murder, committed through aggravated child abuse; one count of aggravated child neglect; and one count of aggravated child abuse against their son.

On Monday afternoon, officials learned that Anthony and Jade Phillips were at a home in Westmoreland, Tennessee. TBI agents and officials from the Sumner County Sheriff's Office arrested the couple without incident.


The defendants were arrested, and two people by those names were being held in the Sumner County, Tennessee, jail, according to the sheriff's office. They are being held on a $250,000 bond.

A court date will be set by the Criminal Court of Sevier County.
