Claiborne Sheriff Says Body Found In Red Hills Area Earlier In Week
 Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray said a body was found near the Red Hills area last week.

An autopsy was performed, but as of Monday, the sheriff's office did not know the cause or manner of death. The sheriff said these results would not be known for several days.

The body was identified as 46-year-old Dan Lawrence Rice of Cumberland Gap. Next of kin was notified in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The body was discovered when a passerby drove past a car and saw the vehicle sitting for a few days and wondered why. He reportedly investigated the vehicle, where he found the body and called police.
