NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/WTVF) -- A woman
out of Nashville has been accused of setting a house on fire after not
being invited to a party, police said.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police obtained by CBS
affiliate WTVF, Shameka Howse knew people were inside the home and was
upset with them.
The incident occurred three weeks ago after police said Howse went to
the residence in a truck driven by an unknown man and started screaming
about not being invited.
When those inside the home would not let her in, WTVF reported, she
allegedly said she was going to set fire to the house.
She walked back to the truck, pulled out a jug of lighter fluid and
began pouring it over the front window of the house, police said. She
then reportedly took a butane lighter and lit the fire.
According to investigators, Howse and the unknown driver fled as three
people inside the home tried to put it out. The flames were extinguished
before any serious damage was caused, and no one was hurt.
Howse was arrested on Wednesday and is due in court on Friday. |
