Blood Drives Planned For Children Treated For E. Coli To Help With Medical Expenses
MEDIC Regional Blood Center is working with two of the families who had their children hospitalized.
One blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, July 10th at Temple Baptist Church at 1700 W. Beaver Creek Road in Powell. The drive is in the church gym from noon until 7 p.m.
A separate blood drive is being held on Sunday, July 29th at All Saints Catholica Church on 620 North Cedar Bluff Road from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All donors are welcome. Specific blood types are not necessary. If you are unable to make it to these drives, You can donate at any MEDIC blood drive over the next several months and let them know you are giving on behalf of the Zenker or Schiding family.
The families will benefit from a membership program with MEDIC.
Those who donate once a year earn membership credit which covers transfusion costs. Donors can give up the credit to help someone who has recently used blood.
