Knoxville Police Opens Homicide Investigation Into Western Heights Shooting That Leaves One Dead
On July 2 at 12:08 a.m. officers were dispatched to a shooting call with a victim in front of 1502 Fort Promise Drive.
KPD said when they arrived, officers found a 27-year-old man in the street behind his vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound.
Authorities said the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. A motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been revealed yet.
Officials said a suspect has been detained, but did not immediately release an identity. Questioning by detectives is underway, according to KPD.
