Carter High School's Football Coach Grants Student With Rare Brain Disorder Opportunity Of Lifetime |
|
Carter High School's football coach
granted a student, who has a rare brain disorder, an opportunity of a
lifetime. Coach Ryan Roach caught word that Wesley Rice, a senior at the school with a rare neurogenetic condition, dreamed of being on the team. Rice's parents say he practiced every single day, with high hopes of punting for the Hornets in their green and white game. Coach Roach turned Rice's dream into a reality last week. "Something so simple has made our Wesley so happy and provided an example of true acceptance to all of Carter High School," said Christi Rice, Wesley's mom. "The coaches have made it possible for Wesley to spend his senior year included as a team mate on the Carter Hornets football team." |
