Cocke County Sheriff's Deputies Arrest 13 Of 30 People Wanted On Drug Charges Near Newport |

NEWPORT - Cocke County sheriff's deputies
have arrested 13 people on various drug charges, and have warrants to
arrest 17 more. The months-long investigations culminated in investigators presenting 54 separate criminal charges for the 30 people on Monday, April 23. Four of the 13 arrested on Wednesday face enhanced punishment for selling controlled substances in a school zone. The 13 in custody include: - Carole Jean Cody, 66, of Newport, charged with three counts of sale and delivery of a schedule III drug (6.5 strips of suboxone) - Teresa Cody, 60, of Newport, charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule III drug (4 strips of suboxone) - Douglas James Gordon, 49, of Parriottsville, charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug in a school zone (2.5 grams of methamphetamine) - Jacky Gregg, 52, of Newport, 2-2-66 charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule III drug in a school zone (4 strips of suboxone) - Andrew Hurst, 30, of Newport, charged with two counts of sale and deliver of a schedule II drug and two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule III drug - Randall Keys 3-21-70, 48, of Sevierville, charged with three counts of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug (6 pills of oxymorphone) - David Lowery, 43, of Newport, charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug (4 pills of oxycodone) - Samantha Lowery, 36, of Newport, charged with three counts of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug (6 pills of oxycodone) - Richard Lynn Martin, 59, of Bybee, charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug in a school zone (8 pills of morphine) - Richard Meeks, 45, of Newport, charged with one count of sale and delivery of a schedule III drug (2 strips of suboxone) - Kimberly McCoig, 46, of Newport, charged with one count of sale and delivery of a schedule III drug (2 strips of suboxone) - Jimmy Moore, 71, of Parrottsville, charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug (6 pills of morphine) - Jessie Worthington, 26, of Newport, charged with one count of sale and delivery of a schedule II drug in a school zone (3.5 grams of oxymorphone) The Sheriff's Department said anyone who wants to report suspicious or illegal activity can call them at 423-623-6004. |
