Early Voting Ends Today Across Knox County For May 1 Primary Election
The early-voting period begins April 11 and runs through April 26. The deadline to register for the primary election passed on April 2. The ballot for this year's primary election includes big races, such as county mayor and county sheriff.
The general election is set for Aug. 2. Anyone voting in the general election must be registered to vote by July 3, and voters can register online or visit the Knox County Election Commission downtown in the old Knox County Courthouse, 300 W. Main St.
Anyone who's not sure where to vote or if they're registered to vote can find out here.
Most early voting locations are open Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The hours will be extended to 7 p.m. on the final three days of early voting, April 24-26. Knox County residents can vote early at any of the following locations:
- City-County Building*, 400 Main St.
- The Love Kitchen, 2418 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
- Downtown West, 1645 Downtown West Blvd., Unit 34
- New Harvest Park, 4775 New Harvest Lane
- Meridian Baptist Church*, 6513 Chapman Highway
- Clinton Plaza Shopping Center, 4952 Clinton Highway
- Farragut Town Hall, 11408 Municipal Center Drive
- Carter Library, 9036 Asheville Highway
- Halls Recreation Center, 6933 Recreation Lane
- Karns Senior Center*, 8042 Oak Ridge Highway
