WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) -- A Kentucky
couple has pleaded not guilty to murdering their adult son with Down
syndrome.
Albert and Patsy Christy, of Clark County, made their please in court
during an arraignment Thursday in the murder case of their 20-year-old
son with intellectual disabilities.
The medical examiner's report states the contributing factors toward
their son's death include neglect, malnutrition and dehydration along
with pneumonia. According to officials, the victim died in December
weighing 61 pounds.
According to CBS affiliate WKYT, Patsy Christy disputed the examiner's
report and said she fed him before calling 911. However, the medical
examiner reported that there were no contents in the victim's stomach.
Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue said this is one of the worst cases he
has seen in his three decades of law enforcement. |
