HANCOCK COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tennessee
Department of Transportation workers will be out in Hancock and Hawkins
county for about three weeks starting Monday at 10 p.m.
A section of the highway, from SR 94 and Clinch Valley Road, will be
closed for "rockfall mitigation" work. TDOT said that, due to large
rocks falling from the hillside, the entire road must be closed to allow
them to complete their work.
Motorists can seek an alternate route from SR 70 in Rogersville by
taking SR 1 (US 11W) South to SR 31 North in Mooresburg, to SR 33 North
to SR 70 North.
From SR 70 in Kyles Ford, they can travel SR South to SR 31 South in
Sneedville, to SR 1 (US 11W) in North Mooresburg, to SR 70 North in
Rogersville.
TDOT asks travelers to be extremely careful in this area as workers will
be present. |
