DICKSON, Tenn. (WVLT/WTVF) - The Tennessee
Bureau of Investigation says the mother of 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels
is now behind bars.
Krystal Nicole Daniels is facing aggravated child neglect or
endangerment charges in the disappearance of her 5-year-old son, Joe
Clyde Daniels, who was the subject of an endangered child alert last
week. He was reported missing on April 4.
Several law enforcement agencies, volunteers, and rescue organizations
searched for the 5-year-old before TBI agents opened an investigation
into criminal conduct on April 6.
The father, 28-year-old Joseph Daniels, is accused of intentionally
killing his son sometime during the night of April 3-4 in the family's
residence and then hiding his son's body in a rural area. The boy's body
has not been found.
According to an affidavit obtained by WTVF, Krystal Daniels was home
when her husband allegedly killed their child. Court documents said
Daniels knew her husband disposed of Joe Clyde's body and "failed to
report the abuse and resulting homicide."
Officials said the couple has two other children that are staying with
other relatives at this time.
The boy's father has been charged with criminal homicide, while his
mother was charged with one count of aggravated child neglect or
endangerment. Both were booked into the Dickson County Jail on $1
million bonds. Krystal Daniels is scheduled to appear in court Monday. |
