Knoxville Police Warn Motorists About Traffic Problems Near Middlebrook
Pike, Sutherland Ave Intersection Monday
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville
Police Department warned commuters about a major traffic problem near
the Middlebrook Pike and Sutherland Avenue intersection Monday.
Officers said there are no operational traffic signals at the
intersection due to a crash Sunday night. Both east and westbound lanes
are open, but the ramp to Sutherland Ave is closed. Traffic exiting I-40
East must turn right to take westbound Middlebrook Pike. Traffic is able
to turn right from Sutherland Avenue to eastbound Middlebrook Pike.
Officials are on the scene working to direct traffic flow, but work on
the lights is not expected to start until 9 a.m. KPD is not sure how
long the repairs will last.
