Early Morning Crash In Alcoa Leaves One Dead, One In Serious Condition
An early morning crash in Alcoa left one
person dead and another in serious condition.
The Alcoa Police Department responded to reports of a single vehicle
crash on Alcoa Highway south of Hunt Road at 9:18 a.m. on Sunday
morning.
According to the police, witnesses said the driver of the vehicle was
traveling northbound on Alcoa Highway when it suddenly veered off the
road and hit a light pole then caught on fire.
A female passenger in the vehicle died on scene, while the driver was
transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The crash is still under investigation. Alcoa police ask anyone who
witnessed the crash to call the police department at 865-981-4111.
