KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville
family expressed their gratitude Tuesday night after community support
around their #BringLambyHome campaign reunited their nearly 3-year-old
daughter with her favorite toy.
BJ Thomas posted to social media Monday evening that his little girl had
lost her dear stuffed animal named Lamby. Thomas said since his daughter
was born, Lamby had always been right by her side.
"He's been through play dates and nap times, sleepless nights and temper
tantrums, trips to the ER and trips to national monuments," Thomas wrote
in his post. "He's been her sidekick for her entire 3 years of life and
we'd desperately love to bring him back home for her. She's heartbroken
that he's gone."
Thomas said Lamby was initially lost on March 31 after the family went
out to run errands in West Knoxville. He then launched the #BringLambyHome
hashtag, and social media took care of the rest.
On Tuesday evening, the family announced on Facebook that their beloved
stuffed lamb had been found. Someone online had spotted Lamby at a
Walgreens, and employees confirmed its location.
The little girl was reunited with her special friend Tuesday night, and
just in time -- Thomas said his daughter would be celebrating her third
birthday on Saturday, and they were glad they could retrieve Lamby
before the special day. |
