Some Without Water Around Downtown Knoxville Due To Water Main Break
Near Market Square
Some people in downtown Knoxville are
without water Thursday morning due to a water main break near Market
Square.
The Knoxville Utilities Board said customers will be temporarily without
water following a six inch water main break.
A KUB representative said at least 17 water services have been impacted
by the leak, including businesses on Market Square and Gay Street. The
utilities board was notified of the incident at 5:20 a.m. Crews
estimated repairs to be completed in the next four to six hours.
Wall Street will be closed until 3 p.m. Thursday. Commuters parking in
the Market Square Garage will need to use Walnut Street to access the
parking area.
KUB said they have crews on the scene to help repair the issue.
