The City of Sevierville reported that two
Kidde smoke alarm models are under recall.
Kidde recalled two dual sensor smoke alarm models due to a potential
safety hazard. According to the company's website, a yellow protective
cap may have been left on some of the models that could impede the
alarms' ability to detect smoke.
The recalled models are PI2010 and PI9010.
To see if your smoke alarm might be affected, check the model number on
the back of the alarm as well as the date. If the date code is within
September 10, 2016 and October 13, 2017, it could be under recall.
Look into an opening on the side of your alarm. If you can see a yellow
cap, the alarm has been affected and must be replaced immediately.
To register for replacement, visit the Kidde website.
According to the city, smoke alarms installed by the Sevierville Fire
Department are not under recall.
