Authorities say a Tennessee Highway Patrol
trooper has shot a man.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says in a statement the
unidentified man was transported to a Nashville hospital but his
condition is not known. The TBI says the trooper was not injured after
shooting the man Tuesday night in Robertson County.
The TBI says initial reports indicate the trooper had pulled a car over
for a traffic stop when he noticed another vehicle driving fast. The
vehicle ran a stop sign, took a sharp turn, and crashed into a tractor
trailer.
The trooper approached the crash and shot the driver after he exited the
vehicle.
TBI Special Agents are investigating the shooting at the request of
District Attorney General John Carney.
Further details were not released.
