KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville
Police found a man they believe stole a car from a Target parking lot in
January.
Officers say Jason Brent Simonds stole a 2013 Nissan Juke from the
parking lot of the Target on Parkside Drive on January 5 at 3:21 p.m.
According to the investigation, an employee had sat the vehicle keys
down inside the store while he worked. The victim later noticed that his
keys were gone and checked the parking lot to discover that his vehicle
was also missing.
Police say Simonds took the keys and went through the Target parking lot
until he found a vehicle that matched up with the keys.
Simonds was taken into custody Thursday after police sifted through
anonymous tips on their Facebook page.
Simonds was charged with theft, simple drug possession (heroin),
possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal impersonation. A hold was
also placed on Simonds due to an outstanding warrant from Anderson
County. |
