The owners of Makers Donuts are
selling their business. This weekend will be their last weekend under
current ownership.
"My husband and I love starting things and that's where we thrive and
where our strengths are. So, we kind of came to year two of being open
and we just decided it would be best to let somebody that loves managing
and growing a business run it so that we could start some other
projects," said co-owner Sara Alsobrooks.
The donut shop will be open Friday night form 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. and on
Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.
"We are trying to keep as many donuts in stock as we can and are making
them as fast as we can. We have so many sweet customers coming to say
goodbye and coming to get their last donuts before we sell so we are so
excited. We have meetings with potential buyers and have had people
reach out to us that we think will be great for the business and the
city," said Alsobrooks.
Alsobrooks says it will be up to the new owners if they want to stay in
the same location. But, she says Makers continues with plans to open a
location inside the new downtown Embassy Suites next January.
"Our customers are so faithful and loyal to us and we are so thankful
and we've gotten the sweetest messages and we just thank everyone for
supporting us in this dream and making it happen," she said. |
