KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox
County Sheriff's Office said Friday an attempted armed robbery suspect
had been taken into custody.
Randy Wood, 50, was arrested without incident on Maryville Pike. KCSO
said he was the suspect in the January 26 attempted robbery of the
Dollar General Store located at 3130 Circle Oak Drive in which a man
pulled a gun on a clerk and demanded money.
When the clerk refused, KCSO said the suspect struck her multiple times
with a weapon. The suspect also stuck the weapon in a customer's face
before striking him with the weapon.
During a struggle, KCSO said the suspect dropped the gun and fled the
scene in a car.

his criminal history includes homicide, kidnapping, robbery and
burglary. |
