MARYVILLE - On February 1, Smoky
Mountain Harley-Davidson said they received a call from Harley-Davidson
President and CEO Matt Levatich that served to inform the dealership
they had been named the number one dealership in the country by the Bar
and Shield Awards within corporate Harley-Davidson.
The award was given based on combined revenue, sales, customer
satisfaction, individual department performance, employee performance
and other categories that were placed into a points system that tiered
every dealership in the country. This year, Smoky Mountain
Harley-Davidson came up big and won the honor of being at the top of the
list.
When the announcement came in, Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson owner
Scott Maddux was surrounded by his team, and they erupted into cheers as
they received the news.
"While the number one recognition is something we are excited to
achieve, the mission to be the best is nothing new to this team," Maddux
said in a statement. "In September, I learned that we were in the
running for Harley-Davidson's Platinum Status (top six dealerships in
the nation). Once the SMH-D team got wind we were in the running, they
made up their minds to finish number one. Big thanks to everyone
involved: family, friends, customers, new riders and especially my SMH-D
family." |
