A brawl in the middle of West Town Mall
ended with a man getting stunned.
A lot of people witnessed the scuffle and even caught it on video.
The intense video captured two men on top of one other man, trying to
cuff him. They pulled out a stun gun and used it on the man.
Many wondered, who were these people? They weren't in uniform.
Knoxville Police and the Knox County Sheriff's Office said they did not
recognize them.
The woman who shared the video said the men told her they were bounty
hunters.
Local 8 News reporter Sarah Jane Cobb showed the video to a few bounty
hunters in Knoxville who said the men's actions were okay. They said
bounty hunters are allowed to use one non-lethal weapon to bring in a
fugitive.
For instance, they are allowed to use a stun gun, but if they do, they
can't use anything like pepper spray.
While it is legal, many said they were shocked to see something like
that happened in such a public place as West Town Mall. |
