The Knox County Sheriff's Office
charged the man they said was responsible for impersonating an officer
and pulling a gun on a woman in a North Knox County gym on January 14.
On Monday, January 29, KCSO said 40-year-old Troy Norman of Powell was
picked up by patrol on Saturday, January 20, and charged with driving on
a revoked license from a previous DUI. Following an investigation by
KCSO, Norman was charged with aggravated assault and criminal
impersonation on January 26.
KCSO said they found in the initial investigation that a white male
confronted a woman in the parking lot of Workout Anytime, located at
3547 West Emory Road, around 5:45 p.m. on January 14. KCSO said the man
identified himself as a police officer and pointed a handgun in the
direction of the woman.
KCSO said they received several tips on the suspect. Norman was taken to
the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility, where his bond was set at
$37,000.
KCSO said Norman's criminal history includes DUI, reckless boating,
leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and multiple other
driving and boating offenses in Knox County. |
