The
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is responding to an officer-involved
shooting in Hamilton County.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said a deputy responded to Wilkes
Avenue in Soddy-Daisy late Friday morning to reports of an unwanted
party at the home. A confrontation occurred, and the deputy shot the man
in the leg. The details leading up to the shooting are still unclear.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are
not life threatening. No deputies were injuries in the shooting, and the
deputy who fired the shot has been placed on administrative leave.
HCSO is not identifying the suspect at this time.
District Attorney Neal Pinkston asked the TBI to investigate the scene.
Agents there are interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Their
findings will be turned over to Pinkston, who will then determine what,
if any, charges are warranted. |
