ANGEL Mother
Whose Son Was Killed By Drunk-Driving Illegal Alien Say Lawmakers Are
Focusing On Wrong Thing
A mother
whose son was killed by a drunk-driving illegal immigrant said lawmakers
in Washington, D.C., are focusing on President Trump's controversial
"s***hole countries" controversy when they should be concerned with
illegal immigrant crime, sanctuary cities and border security.
"Every one of you politicians in Washington need to be protecting your
fellow Americans," Mary Anne Mendoza said on "The Story" on Friday
night. "That is it. That's the issue that needs to be handled."
She suggested that Trump's comments are getting so much attention
because lawmakers are trying to deflect away from their lack of progress
on comprehensive immigration reform.
She said she still has faith that Trump will deliver on immigration and
follow through on the promises he made during the 2016 campaign, but she
wants to see him get more support from Congress.
"I think our politicians in Washington have lost focus on what they're
really there for: the constitutional rights that every one of us as
American citizens have that are being completely ignored," Mendoza said.
"They are giving more precedent to these illegal criminals."
She concluded with a stern message for Senate Majority Leader Mitch
McConnell and other members of Congress: "Do what you were elected to
do."
