On Wednesday evening, the Knoxville
Police Department announced a person of interest in a New Year's Day
homicide that left four children without a mother had been located.
KPD said Wednesday Dominick "True Story" Brown was located after police
received numerous tips as to his whereabouts.
The Knoxville Police Department announced the investigation into a
homicide of a mother of four on Tuesday.
At 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, KPD officers were called to East Tennessee
Children's Hospital on West Clinch Avenue to investigate a shooting
scene. Authorities said the shooting did not happen at the hospital.
Investigators believe the homicide victim Kayla Viars, 27, of Loudon,
was dropped off in the hospital lobby by an unknown male. The male
reportedly left the scene before officers arrived.
Viars died from gunshot injuries shortly after being dropped off at the
hospital.
Investigators added that Brown, who was located Wednesday, was just one
person of interest in the ongoing investigation They are searching for
multiple individuals across several counties. Anyone with information
