A miniature horse, named Sparkle, is at
the University of Tennessee's Veterinary Medical Center and desperately
needs its medical costs covered after being involved in a fatal car
wreck.
Sparkle is one of four animals, including two goats and another
miniature horse, who were involved in a deadly car crash on Strawberry
Plains Friday night, according to a post on the Horse Haven of
Tennessee's Instagram account.
When Knox County deputies arrived to the scene around 11:10 p.m., they
found one goat and one miniature horse deceased.
The second goat had to be euthanized because it suffered too much
internal damage, according to Horse Haven of Tennessee.
Crews said Sparkle, the only survivor, suffered lung trauma, broken
ribs, and damage to its legs. She is stable in the intensive car unit,
but her owners had to give her up because they could not afford to pay
the $2,000 vet bill.
