A Knoxville man has been charged with
fatally stabbing his father early Sunday morning, according to the Knox
County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a call of a stabbing just after 2 a.m. at 7706
Rosie Lane. Upon arrival, KCSO said deputies discovered Daniel Lynn
Hillard, 65, inside the residence, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. Deputies then
detained the victim's son, 37-year-old John Paul Hillard, for
questioning.
Hillard has been charged with first degree murder in connection to the
death of his father. He's being held on a $1 million bond at the Roger
D. Wilson Detention Facility.
Hillard's criminal history in Knox County includes possession of drug
