Three Knoxville House Fires Reported In Space Of 24 Hours

After returning to his home from the University of Tennessee and UNC basketball game Sunday, a man found his home engulfed in smoke, and he wasn't the only one.

Investigators said the Vols fan's home, in the 200 block of Leonard Place, erupted in flames around 6:00 p.m. No one was home, according to the Knoxville Fire Department.

Authorities said the fire likely started in the fan's kitchen but is still being investigated.

Three hours later, at 9:00 p.m., KFD responded to a vacant home in the 600 block of Walker Street.

Upon arrival, crews saw flames coming from a side window. That fire is also under investigation, and no injuries were reported.

Saturday, firemen were dispatched to the 5000 block of
Villa Road.

When crews arrived, they said two men were standing outside, as heavy smoke was coming from the back of their house.

Investigators said the fire was was coming from the bathroom and made its way to the attack before firefighters gained control.

Th Red Cross is assisting the men, who are staying with family, as the fire is still under investigation,
